General Ledger options and format

General Ledger Format

General Ledger Format is a Alpha-Numeric combination for identifying the Account Types. GL Format can contain Alphabets (a-z or A-Z) , Numerics (0-9) or (-) dashes. The maximun length of the GL Format cannot exceed 64 (including all characters).

Alphabets are “ represented by “$” dollar sign.

Numeric Values are represented by “9” number nine.

[Dash] -s are represented by ”-“ dash sign.

Example:

To represent a GL Format with 4 Alplabets 2 Numbers 1 Dash 2 Numeric 2 Alphabets use the following format. Once you decide the format, the data will be saved for all newly created GL Accounts using the Pattern.
