The [[http://wiki.openpro.com/doku.php?id=products:manufacturing:manufacturing-basics|Work Centers]] tab allows you to create new,modify and delete organization units/divisions where manufacturing activities are performed.

The work center will be  a manufacturing unit where one or more similar operations run simultaneously and the workers/machines work at the same time. You can set up the work center Code, Description, Department, location, Shifts and People.

Code: This is a unique work center code

Description: This is the name of the work center

Department: This is the department where the work center is based.

Location: This is the division where the work center is based.

Shifts: This is the number of shifts available in the work area.

People: This is the number of people who can work at the same time in the work center.
