The [[http://wiki.openpro.com/doku.php?id=products:financial:gl-app-guide|Chart of Accounts]] screen is the list of all of your G/L accounts. 

The upper part of the screen allows you to add a new GL Chart of Accounts Record through the **Add a New GL Chart Of Accounts Record**

The lower part of the screen includes a listing of all the GL accounts.

Account No: These are the account unique identifies for all the accounts in the GL	

Inactive: This describes whether the account is active or dormant

Account Description: This is the account description/account name

Finance Type: This describes the financial statement associated with the account

Statement Account Type: This describes whether this is an asset or liability account	

Balance Type: This describes whether the account has a debit or a credit	

Summary Type: This describes whether this is a summary or detailed account	

Note: This is additional optional information on the account

The Add New GL Record Screen allows you to add a new account record to the GL

Account Number : This is the account number for the new record  	

Location Identification: This describes the company or location 	

Inactive: Describes whether the account will be active or inactive 	

Account Description: This is the name of the account 	

Finance Type: This describes the financial statement associated with the account

Statement Account Type: This describes whether this is an asset or liability account	

Balance Type: This describes whether the account has a debit or a credit	

Tax Code: This is a unique identifier for the type of tax associated with the account 	

Account Type : Describes whether it is a tax, purchase, sales, account receivable, payable or inventory control account

Summary Details: This describes the summary frequency whether daily, weekly etc

Notes : This is additional information on the account

View GL Summary Report: Allows you to view the GL Report after population of all details

Add: This button allows you to add the account after filling in the details.
