The Sales Report by Category Screen allows you to view a summary of all sales transaction based on defined item categories. The upper part of the screen allows you to filter your view based on Locations, Year, Start Period, End Period, Item Category and Subcategory; you are also able to select if you want to include main category in your report.

Category #: This is a unique category number/identifier

Description: This is the name of the category

Total: This is the total of the item categories sold

Gross Margin: This is the total sales revenue less the cost of items

Markup: This is the difference between cost and selling price
