program needs to be loaded.Get the Server IP and user name and password from your administrator of the system.
With Crystal Reports, depending on what version you have, you may require a patch.
Version 9 and earlier does require ODBC patch.
Version 10, 11 does not require that patch.
Run Crystal.
Click the New icon in the toolbar.
Select 'Using the REPORT WIZARD', click OK.
Create new connection, then click Next.
You will see the connection you created in ODBC. Click Next.
Select the database. In thie example, select opendemo49
. The click Next.
And open up the tables.
This give you the list of OpenPro Tables for reporting.
Select the tables you want to report. In this example, the AP_vendors
table is selected.
Use the right arrow button to move it from the left column to the right.
Now that the table is selected, click Next.
Then select the fields you want to print out. Then click Next.
The selected fields are moved into the right hand column using the right arrow button. Once settled on the fields that have been selected, click Next.
Grouping
Grouping is where you want to sort the records and generate totals.
We will sort by State. But if you want to use this for Excel extract it is better not to select anything here.
Add the item for Grouping purposes, then click Next.
Summaries
Then it will total number of records or numeric fields and display those at the sub total breaks.
Then record selection. This is used to select by Company ID
and any other field you want.
Templates
Templates are use to make the reports in special format. This is not required.
Created Report
Then the system creates a report that you can change formats, setup headers, etc.
After the report is created, you can run that at any time on this work station and update the report with current data.
If you have Crystal Enterprise Server, you can also store the report on that server, and add them to the OpenPro menu for reporting from OpenPro.
Report Output
Here is how you add reports to the OpenPro menu from Crystal Reports Server.
All that needs to be done is copy the RPT file over to the server. View the rpt from the enterprise server via a web browser. Copy the shortcut and past it into an openpro menu items.
